01:202:309 Criminal Law: Theory and Practice
Description: The Model Penal Code and various state statures will be examined to provide foundational understanding of criminal law, particularly sentencing procedures and related jurisprudential issues. Emphasis will be placed on the offense categories of rape and homicide. Topics will include how guilt is established, justification of punishment, and defining criminal conduct.

Course Synopsis:

Professor NETTL:The Model Penal Code and various state statures will be examined to provide foundational understanding of criminal law, including  sentencing procedures and related jurisprudential issues.  Topics will include how guilt is established, justification of punishment, and defining criminal conduct.  There will be discussions on the practical practices of criminal law both from a defense and prosecutorial/police side.
